Teammate Spotlight: Shundra Richardson Post date December 10, 2024 Shundra Richardson is a Patient Care Secretary for Faith Presbyterian Hospice (FPH). In her role, she serves as an important bridge between the FPH clinical team and the families being served, ensuring their needs are addressed with care and in a timely manner. We sat down with Shundra to learn more about her through a fun question and answer session. Read about this caring teammate below. What are you passionate about regarding your professional role?Professionally, I am passionate about supporting the families we serve by diligently working behind the scenes. I understand that each family has unique concerns, and it’s my responsibility to relay any needs promptly to the appropriate teammates. I take pride in playing a vital role in their care journey. It’s fulfilling to know that my efforts help provide a supportive experience for these families during such an important time. Favorite memory/moment to date during your time at FPH:One of my favorite memories is actually a success story! I received a call from a widow who was struggling deeply with her grief. She felt completely alone and had no one to talk to about the loss of her husband. During our time on the phone, I was able to provide calming reassurance and help her consider whether additional therapy might be beneficial. Moments like these remind me how meaningful our work is, and I was truly grateful to be able to help her. What do you think sets FPH apart from other hospice services?I think our compassion for those we serve and our mission, “to make each moment matter for those we serve,” is what sets FPH apart from all other hospice agencies.What is something that makes you feel proud?I am most proud of my understanding of how essential it is to provide quality care at the end of life. I take great pride in contributing to someone’s comfort and dignity throughout this journey. On the weekend, you can find me:On the weekend, you can usually find me with my sisters. I love making memories with my siblings! My favorite foods/restaurants include:My favorite food is street tacos – there’s nothing better! The best part is that you’re not limited to just one great restaurant; street tacos can be found all over the Dallas metroplex. I especially enjoy exploring new food spots with my boyfriend. Tell us about your hobbies:I am a big homebody and my hobbies include listening to music, cooking and coloring. Share about your family:I am the youngest of four sisters, which means there’s never a dull moment! We’re always planning something fun together, whether it’s a food night, game night or getting together for arts and crafts. How would your friends describe you?If you were to ask my friends, they would say it’s my innate kindness, my ability to really listen and provide honest feedback and my willingness to grow that makes me a good friend. ← Older Posts
