The halls of the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center were recently filled with the lovely sounds of classical music, as internationally accomplished pianist and teacher, Dr. Jeeyung Lee, performed in the Spiritual Care Center. Dr. Lee is currently pursuing certification as a music practitioner and is dedicated to bringing comfort and healing to others through her music. Patients, families and Faith Presbyterian Hospice (FPH), Forefront Living and Forefront Living Foundation teammates were invited to pause and experience the beauty of her performance.
Reflecting on the experience, Rita West, FPH Volunteer Coordinator, shared, “How privileged we were to have Dr. Lee bring our piano to life. I was enchanted by her style of playing. I closed my eyes and let the melodic sounds fill my ears, mind and heart. I believe her music offered peace, comfort and relaxation to all who listened.”
Dr. Lee’s devotion to using music to uplift others led her to volunteer as a pianist at the Charles Sammons Cancer Center in Dallas and to Baylor Scott and White in Irving. She has an impressive career in teaching and leadership roles that includes serving as the piano department chair at Mahidol University in Thailand and directing the Thailand International Piano Competition. Dr. Lee lives in Irving, Texas, with her husband and dog and continues to share her music to bless others.
