Forefront Living Foundation receives $250,000 from the Sands Foundation Post date January 29, 2021 Photo By: David Woo Forefront Living Foundation, the charitable arm of Faith Presbyterian Hospice, is honored to receive a $250,000 gift from The Sands Family Foundation to help support the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center Endowment fund. In recognition of the gift, the lobby of the Harold Simmons Inpatient Care Center, part of the Forefront Living family, will be named for long-time Dallas philanthropist Caroline Rose Hunt. “We are grateful to Steve and Marcy Sands and the entire Sands Foundation.” said Tena Burley, executive director of the Forefront Living Foundation. “Since opening in 2017, T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center has proven to be a valuable community resource and the endowment allows us to continue that exceptional work for which the center has become known.” Mrs. Hunt was a resident at the hospice center when she passed in 2018. She helped build the Rosewood Corporation and was the guiding force behind the development of many Dallas businesses and neighborhoods the city is famous for. She was celebrated for her generosity, integrity, and her love for the Dallas community. “Mrs. Hunt’s family is so grateful for the wonderful care and compassion she received at T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center and they wanted to do something very special to show their gratitude,” said Lynn Fisher, director, Rosewood Corporate Giving. “This gift to the endowment fund will help ensure other families can receive the same excellent care during their time of need.” “It’s an incredible honor to provide the gift of hospice to any family, however when we have the opportunity to provide for a family who is so invested in our mission, it’s simply overwhelming,” said John Mezo, executive director of Faith Presbyterian Hospice. “We’re grateful to the Sands family for the generous gift, and for the trust they bestowed in us when caring for Mrs. Hunt.” The gift from The Sands Family Foundation qualifies for a match made by an anonymous donor. The donor pledged to match all gifts and pledges up to $5 million made by Feb. 28. A quote from Hunt will be displayed in the lobby: “With a friend you can laugh, you can weep, you can pray.” If you would like to contribute to the Forefront Living Foundation, click here.
