FPH Teammate Spotlight: Shelby London Post date February 17, 2025 Shelby London is a Patient Care Manager for Faith Presbyterian Hospice (FPH), working in the Harold E. Simmons In-Patient Care Center at the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center. In her role, she oversees the daily operations of the in-patient unit where her goal is to provide exceptional end-of-life care for patients. We sat down with Shelby to learn more about her through a fun question and answer session. Read about this caring teammate below. What are you passionate about regarding your professional role?Professionally I am passionate about providing compassionate end-of-life care that prioritizes comfort, dignity and support for patients, families and the dedicated team caring for them. Favorite memory/moment to date during your time at FPH:My favorite funny memory at FPH has to be witnessing the ice skating that happens in the parking lot during ice storms. Those moments have brought so much joy and laughter to the team! What do you think sets FPH apart from other hospice services?What sets FPH apart is the unique combination of emotional resilience, deep empathy and a shared purpose. FPH is truly something special. What is something that makes you feel proud?I feel proud of my dedication to my career and my team. I have wanted to be a nurse since I was a little kid, and I’m proud that I made that dream a reality. On the weekend, you can find me:On the weekend, when I’m not chasing my toddler around, you can find me thrift shopping. My favorite foods/restaurants include:My favorite restaurants are Texas Roadhouse and Love Sushi in Frisco. My go-to dishes are Pad Thai, a Spicy Tuna Crunch roll or steak. Tell us about your hobbies:My hobbies include playing video games and spending time with friends and family. Share about your family:I have been married for five years, and we have one wonderfully wild toddler, who will be turning two years old soon. My parents live two streets away from us, which is an awesome perk! On my side, I have one sister and two nephews. My husband comes from a larger family, as he is one of five children. So, we have many more nephews and one niece on his side. Rounding out my family are two Chihuahua mixes, Turkey and Ruby. How would your friends describe you?My friends would probably say that I make sure they feel understood, valued and supported while providing as many laughs as possible along the way! ← Older Posts
