Spreading Love, Smiles and Cinnamon Rolls: CLA’s Second Annual Hospice Valentine’s Celebration Warms Hearts Post date February 13, 2025 In the whirlwind of our daily routines, it’s easy to become absorbed in our own concerns, forgetting the profound impact a simple act of kindness can have on another person’s life. Yet, amidst the hustle and bustle, there are those who make it their mission to spread love and joy wherever they go. Such is the case with the compassionate team at CliftonLarsonAllen, LLP (CLA), where kindness isn’t just a sporadic gesture but a deeply ingrained tradition. This year marked the second annual Hospice Valentine’s collaborative event with CLA and Forefront Living (FL), a tradition that continues to bring warmth and joy to those receiving care at the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center. This time, teammates from FL, Faith Presbyterian Hospice (FPH), CLA and a Forefront Living Work-Study student, Jocelyn Ramirez, from Cristo Rey Dallas, joined together to create a special Valentine’s Day experience for Marjorie Crennell, a 98.5-year-old respite hospice patient. The group showered Marjorie with Valentine-themed decor and accessories, filling her room with festive cheer. Knowing her favorites, they presented her with a beautiful bouquet of roses and fresh cinnamon rolls, adding an extra layer of warmth to the occasion. The gathering of gals on Galentine’s Day sang love songs together, led by FPH Music Therapist, Jennefer Dixon, sparking wonderful memories that Marjorie joyfully shared. “My husband and I used to dance in the kitchen every morning,” Marjorie reminisced. “He was always doing wonderful things to take care of me and make me feel special, and he passed away on Valentine’s Day 33 years ago. I miss him every day. Thank you for brightening my day with your kindness.” These heartfelt moments underscore the power of human connection and the beauty of simple acts of kindness. As Mary Lippel, CLA Senior Consultant, eloquently said, “As a team, we wanted to do our part to spread some joy. Fostering love and friendship within our community helps us all be better people, and it reminds us there is always a way to brighten someone’s day. Love and kindness are the best gifts we can give to the world, so we want to share it with as many people as possible.” This second annual Valentine’s event was a testament to the power of love, music and shared memories—proof that even the smallest gestures can make a world of difference in someone’s life – no matter what stage they are in.
