What are you passionate about regarding your professional role?
I am passionate about educating families on the mission of hospice. Many come to us with misconceptions, and I take pride in helping them understand what we do. Hospice social work is about more than offering resources, it’s about continuously evaluating changing needs and providing timely support. I know many patients value maintaining control and dignity during this challenging time in their lives. Understanding how to best serve them is key to building meaningful relationships. Our team at FPH offers families a sense of comfort, knowing they have someone to lean on and that they are not alone on this difficult journey. Knowing I can make a positive contribution is indescribable. You don’t always know if your efforts make a difference, but when you do, it’s priceless.

Favorite memory/moment to date during your time at FPH:
One of my favorite memories is when the spouse of a patient who passed unexpectedly arranged an informal gathering with the teammates who had been directly involved in the patient’s care. During this time, the family graciously recognized each teammate, sharing personal stories of how their care made a positive impact.

What do you think sets FPH apart from other hospice services?
FPH stands out because of the strong collaboration between our in-home hospice teammates and those serving at the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center (TBPHC). While our in-home patients often form close bonds with their care team, they find comfort in knowing we always prioritize their best interests, especially when transitioning to a higher level of care at TBPHC. Families recognize that this seamless partnership creates an unmatched level of support. I believe the T. Boone Pickens Center provides a serene environment for our patients and their loved ones during times of crisis, adding significant value to their experience.

On the weekend, you can find me:
On the weekend you can find me spending time with family. I love to entertain in my home whether it’s by throwing impromptu swim parties or hosting BBQs and game nights. To me, weekends are meant for fun and to unwind.

Tell us about your hobbies:
I enjoy swimming, water aerobics, horseback riding, attending live music events and Broadway theatre and going to comedy clubs.

What are some of your favorite foods and restaurants?
My favorite restaurant is The Capital Grille where I enjoy dining on a perfectly cooked, medium rare steak paired with a glass of red wine and any kind of dessert. If I’m ordering take out, I love the chicken piccata from Kenny’s East Coast Pizza and they also have the best cannoli!

What is something that makes you feel proud?
I am most proud of my upbringing. My parents taught me to work hard, play hard and always do the right thing. I am proud that my husband and I have raised our son in the same light. It is so important to have a strong foundation in this complicated world.

Share about your family:
I am married to my soulmate, Ricky, and our 21-year-old son, Aiden, is the perfect blend of our cultures. I grew up in New York as the child of Irish immigrants, with four older brothers. Ricky is from New Orleans and is of Filipino descent. He has one brother and a multitude of cousins. Our families are large and spread across the United States, Ireland and the Philippines, allowing us to celebrate and integrate our diverse traditions when we gather together.

How would your friends describe you?
My friends would describe me as being silly, passionate and truthful. I am a friend that is available when needed, knows how to listen. I value and nurture true friendships because I know they are gifts to be cherished.
